On March 10, 2017, Sybil Churchill celebrated her 102nd birthday at Life Care Center of Omaha, Nebraska, where she resides.
The facility held a traditional cake and ice cream party for Churchill and her family and friends.
Churchill was born in Laclede County, Missouri, while World War I was raging in Europe. Her family moved to a farm in Tekamah, Nebraska, in 1916, and Churchill graduated from Tekamah High School. She married Gerald Churchill, and the couple went on to have two children. She was a housewife and later worked for Omaha Public Schools.
They settled in Omaha in 1945, and the couple was married for 78 years before Gerald passed away.
When asked the secret to her long life, Churchill credited her healthy lifestyle, saying, “I ate the right kind of food.”
